James Cheek

James Cheek is an actor from Dallas with eight years of experience in the voice-over industry. He is best known for his role as San Lang/Hua Cheng in FUNimation’s English dub of Heaven Official’s Blessing. HOB was the first Chinese animation (donghua) that FUNimation ever dubbed. He has worked on hit anime series such as Assassination Classroom, The Vision of Escaflowne, and One Piece. He has also voiced original animations.

His most prominent role is John Sincock in the Annie-nominated short film Birdsong. Along with his animations, he has also worked on video games and commercial projects. James is also an accomplished voice director and writer. He has directed and written several English dubs. He currently works as a writer for anime jungle Crunchyroll, a streaming service that focuses on anime, manga and Asian. Recent series he has written include Revengers and the second season of the popular anime series Vinland Saga. When James isn’t acting, writing or directing, he’s working on his projects. He also co-hosts the podcast Guys & Dolls with his brother William.
