Together we create Copenhagen Comics 2024

We are looking for someone who wants to help create Denmark's largest comic book festival. In the run-up to each festival, people are needed to coordinate and solve practical tasks. We already have many volunteer organizers in the different working groups, but we need you!

You need to want to be part of a committed volunteer community who are all passionate about their own part of the festival.

It doesn’t matter if you want to do small closed tasks or be part of every phase – from planning to execution. There’s also no requirement that you know everything about comics, cosplay or any other part of the festival. As long as you think comics and everything else the festival does is exciting and something you want to contribute to.

Across the working groups, we are looking for people who are one or more of these types:

  • Structured, systematic types with an overview who love lists and systems
  • Resourceful, creative types who can come up with content that engages audiences and guests leading up to and during the festival
  • Practical types who get things done, can get things done and have a driver’s license, for example

The festival benefits from the great community that exists in the comic book community, where everyone is supportive.

Becoming a volunteer organizer is a great opportunity for you to get a taste of the scene, talk to professional cartoonists and network with dedicated and passionate comic book fans and others who love volunteering.

Workgroups are happy to meet 1-2 times a month in person or online, so you can live anywhere in the country! We communicate via Slack, email and online video meetings. The amount of time we spend varies, but most people can expect around 5-6 hours of volunteering per month and about double that as we get closer to the festival.

However, the most important thing for us is that you enjoy it and that it balances with the rest of your life. It’s okay if you take on individual, specific tasks in the groups and aren’t the one with the big picture (but we’d love to have you on board too).

  • You’ll be part of the community, gaining experience in project management, event planning, communication and problem solving.
  • You expand your network – You get to know a lot of people in the comics community and industry.
  • You make Copenhagen Comics an even better festival.
You get the opportunity to create the content and setting you think is missing at the festival.

Join our working group

Now let’s give the floor to some of the working groups who hope to hear from you

We work with websites, newsletters, social media, press, printed materials and much more outward-facing communication.
We are especially looking for you to join a team of graphic designers who provide graphics and illustrations for printed materials, our program, website and social media content.

We are looking for people who want to create short videos. Whether you want to animate or record, we’d love to upgrade on video and hope you can help us with that.

We are also looking for someone who is passionate about writing texts for our program and about our guests. You who want to join a team of graphic designers.
We’re also looking for people who want to join the group and do a little bit of everything within communication.

If you have any questions, please contact us via email

Having you in the group would be great!

Fundraising & Partnerships

We need your help to write applications to foundations and companies. Our work supports the exciting ideas and projects created in other working groups.
First and foremost, you must want to make a difference – and contribute positively by writing and developing ideas so that we get as many foundations, companies and partners to support Copenhagen Comics as possible. You can also come up with ideas for what would be great to work on in the fundraising group.
Last year we had success with the Danish Arts Foundation, Copenhagen Municipality’s festival pool and various companies and organizations.

We hope to have you on the team!

Volunteer service

Without volunteers, there is no Copenhagen Comics. In the volunteer service, we organize everything for the weekend volunteers in the festival service.

We are the service function that makes the shift puzzle work, we are the ones who negotiate catering agreements and we are the ones who define the tasks for festival service.

We want you to join us if you want to help make the work tasks simple and manageable. Prices must be easy to remember when you are at the ticket counter, access conditions are rethought for those at the entrance and every single task is reviewed. We are also the ones who regularly acknowledge new registrations and ensure a good welcome for newcomers to the festival service.

Whether you’ve been a weekend volunteer yourself or just think it sounds like an exciting task, you’re welcome to join our working group.

Thank you for reading!

We have many more working groups where there is room for you to help organize Copenhagen Comics 2024

You are also very welcome in the groups for Asian pop culture, booking, cosplay, entrance and ticketing, booth sales and floor planning, stage program and more.

We look forward to hearing from you. And we can’t wait for Copenhagen Comics 2024
See you in Øksnehallen 💙 đŸ—šïž
