Mikkel Sommer is a cartoonist and writer based in Athens. For the past 15 years, he has worked with illustration, children's books, designs for animation and, of course, comics. This year he has published the book \"Karate Police\" in collaboration with his daughter Yuna.<\/p>\n\n

Since childhood, Mikkel Sommer has liked to draw the same thing over and over again. The technique was refined over the years and the talent recognized by several Danish drawing schools. Mikkel Sommer chose the life of a self-taught and independent illustrator early on. His linework and fluid imagery is distinctive and evocative, and he has drawn for newspapers and illustrated books. Most recently \"The Hate\", a continuous illustrated poem in diary format about a young girl's life during the Second World War.<\/p>\n\n

Mikkel Sommer has always been fascinated and inspired by French comics, so when French author Antoine Ozanam wanted him to illustrate his book \"Burn Out\" (2013), he saw it as an obvious opportunity to \"become a small part of that world\" and do a book with an established author<\/p>\n\n

Yuna Sommer Rakhmanko is 11 years old and lives in Athens. Yuna loves 80s movies, comics and books, drawing and building things, playing the piano and playstation. She is the child of cartoonists Anna Rakhmanko and Mikkel Sommer. This year she is publishing her first full-length book, \"The Karate Police\", in collaboration with her father. <\/p>\n\n
