DM i Tegning is by far the largest live drawing competition for children and young people aged 9-17 years.
The competition takes place in Silkeborg and will next be held on October 12, 2024.
Danish National Drawing Championship is a major national event that also kicks off a major visual arts effort in Silkeborg called Alle Tegner (Everyone Draws), run by the cultural school Den Kreative Skole in Silkeborg in collaboration with Museum Jorn and Kunstcenteret Silkeborg Bad.
Participants in the drawing championship have pre-qualified for the championship by solving and submitting a homework assignment. They compete in front of a live audience in various disciplines while their drawings are continuously projected on a big screen. This way, show-off is combined with drawing skills and imagination. A host comments on the competitions and engages the audience, while a panel of judges consisting of some of the country’s leading creative names judge the contestants.
