Award-winning cartoonist, artist and illustrator Anna Laurine Kornum, who is behind several horror comics, can be experienced at Denmark’s largest comic book festival
She started at Design School Kolding in 1998, but chose instead to complete a degree in philosophy and biology at the University of Copenhagen. Kornum has worked with fine art and illustration, primarily scientific illustration.
In 2016 she landed a spot in Heavy Metal Magazine (#280) with her first comic A Mind Bomb and in 2022 she released her Danish debut Mit indre øje. A work she has received several awards for – Danish Horror Publication of the Year as well as the Claus Deleuran Award and the Ping Award for best debut.
The illustrations are beautiful, realistic and filled with an incredible eeriness. A modern fairytale, a dark fable with an undercurrent of existential horror that is a mix between realism and fairytale, where abuse of many kinds constantly permeates the story of the downfall of a happy nuclear family.
