Dan Berry is a British comic book artist, illustrator and educator. He has created a number of comics and graphic novels, often focusing on personal narrative and everyday life narratives. Berry’s work often explores themes of everyday life, relationships and introspection, and is known for his storytelling and artistic abilities.
He is based in Shrewsbury, UK, where he lives with his family and two cats. In addition to publishing his own comics, Dan also works with author David Gaffney to produce graphic novels such as The Three Rooms in Valerie’s Head and Rivers .
Dan Berry also hosts the podcast Make It Then Tell Everybody, where he interviews other comic book artists about their creative processes and experiences, and delves into the minds and methods of more than 250 other artists at different stages of their careers. He also designs and manufactures the Blade Pen, a unique drawing tool that has gone through many design iterations.
Dan Berry occasionally teaches at The Animation Workshop in Viborg, Denmark, where he shares his expertise with students.
Dan has taught illustration, comics and children’s books at the School of Creative Arts, Wrexham Glyndwr University, and occasionally offers 1-to-1 mentoring, editorial feedback and creative workshops. In addition to the usual creative tools, Dan is also a font designer, creating custom fonts for comic book artists that naturally mimic their own handwriting.
