Rune Ryberg is an award-winning Danish cartoonist and character designer.
His style is loose and colorful, often with longer wordless sequences and a focus on the characters’ inner emotional struggles and hardships. His work is not afraid of vibrant colors, and you’ll be subjected to a playful 70s acid trip. As Roskilde Libraries’ Morten Langkilde wrote: “Arms, legs, and bodies flail wildly, but the facial expressions are unusually expressive, so that the reader is never in doubt about the characters’ state of mind.”
He has also received several awards for his work:
Claus Deleuran Award 2019 for Death Save in the category “Best Comic Book”, which was also chosen as the best comic book of the year at Pingprisen 2019.
Claus Deleuran Award 2017 for Turbo Fang in the category “Best Coloring”.
PING Award 2015 for Gigant in the category “Best Children’s/Youth Cartoon” . A fun and different story about The young and insecure guy nicknamed Gigant is anything but gigantic. But when his friend is suddenly swallowed up by a giant green monster on a picnic, Gigant must step in to get her back.
